Are you our next Associate Director – Mission Critical Team within 

Construction Advisory?

Location: Dublin, as part of our hybrid working model.

Grade: Associate Director

Contract type: Perm


You will be responsible for promoting and marketing KPMG Construction Advisory, representing the practice at a senior level within the industry and internally, and managing the day-to-day operations of their projects with their teams, supported by their supervising Director and other Senior Practice personnel.

 

A snapshot of your peer group:

  • Degree Qualified – BSc or MSc – in Quantity Surveying / Cost Management / Mechanical & Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Professionally Qualified – ideally Chartered Quantity Surveying Status with the RICS, CIOB, or other equivalent institution.
  • Strong understanding a variety of project types/sizes/sectors, within the Mission Critical sector.
  • Strong understanding of RIAI and FIDIC standard forms of contract
  • Experience in preparing bid submissions.
  • Prior line-management experience or mentoring.
  • Proven ability to advise clients and design teams on procurement, cost, value, and risk, with particular expertise in M&E Cost Management and not just cost in isolation.
  • Excellent numeracy, verbal, and written communication skills.

As an Associate Director within the M&E Cost Management team, you will lead and deliver all aspects of cost management and quantity surveying—from project inception to completion—with a focus on mechanical and electrical elements. 

You will collaborate closely with Directors to manage and deliver multiple projects within our key account frameworks. 

You will drive performance standards through expert communication and effective use of the performance management process, maintaining and developing strong relationships with clients, and upholding the firm’s reputation for premium quality services in the construction industry. Additionally, you will manage and mentor junior staff to deliver our Cost Management service efficiently and effectively.


Duties Include:

  • Feasibility estimates specific to M&E systems
  • Procurement advice, with emphasis on M&E packages
  • Ensuring deliverables are produced to high standards and issued on time
  • Cost planning and cash-flow forecasting for M&E works
  • Value and risk management, including technical risk associated with M&E systems
  • Post contract management of M&E cost elements
  • Fee generation
  • Supporting and developing team members
  • Identifying ways to improve accuracy and efficiency of tasks, supporting senior staff in project optimisation
  • Client engagement and relationship management

You will be joining a niche practice area within KPMG, with a team of 50 people and growing.
