Are you our next Nature & Land Use Expert?

Location: Dublin/Cork, as part of our hybrid working model.

Grade: Associate Director

Contract type: Perm

KPMG Sustainable Futures is seeking an experienced Associate Director to join our Nature & Land Use unit. As a senior member of the team, you will lead and deliver client engagements focused on nature, biodiversity and land use across public and private sectors. You will also work with the wider team on adjacent projects on climate risk, sustainable finance, circular economy and transition planning (including responding to key drivers such as EU CSRD and TNFD).

A snapshot of your peer group:

  • Bachelor’s degree required: Master’s preferred in nature, biodiversity, land use or a related discipline.
  • 8+ years’ professional experience (including consulting) in nature and biodiversity, natural capital, ecosystem services or related fields.
  • Strong technical knowledge and hands on experience applying nature-related standards and frameworks (e.g., CSRD ESRS, TNFD/LEAP, SBTN, SBTi) and natural capital concepts and standards (including natural capital accounting where relevant).
  • Strong understanding of Irish, EU and global sustainability regulation and market trends, and nature-related disclosure requirements.
  • Proven experience delivering advisory engagements across public and private sector clients, translating complex scientific and regulatory topics into clear, actionable insights for senior audiences.
  • Excellent project management and delivery leadership, including oversight of quality, budgets and client relationships.
  • Commercial mindset with a track record contributing to business development and growth of client services.
  • Experience coaching and developing junior team members in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment

Your responsibilities and achievements will evolve as you enhance your career with us. Here is what you can initially expect:

  • Lead delivery of client workstreams end-to-end: project planning, analysis, synthesis of evidence, and quality assurance of outputs.
  • Produce high-quality deliverables (reports, presentations and models), turning technical content into decision-useful insights for senior stakeholders.
  • Design and facilitate client meetings and workshops, guiding stakeholders through findings, options and practical next steps.
  • Deliver work across nature, biodiversity and land use topics, including impacts/dependencies, risks/opportunities, targets, natural capital accounting, strategy and reporting/disclosure recommendations (TNFD/CSRD-aligned where relevant).
  • Work closely with colleagues across climate risk, decarbonisation, sustainable finance, circular economy, ESG strategy, transition planning and reporting in KPMG Ireland and across our global network.
  • Help develop and apply KPMG tools, methodologies, propositions and thought leadership.
  • Support business development through proposals, client relationship building and market engagement.
  • Coach junior colleagues and contribute to the growth of the Sustainable Futures team and the Nature & Land Use unit.
